If you’ve just started leaving your toddler with a babysitter, it can be difficult to tell whether he likes her or not.
Most toddlers will protest when their parents leave them with a sitter, regardless of the sitter. Generally, familiarity is the key to their relationships with substitute caregivers.
If you can develop a steady relationship with a sitter that you trust, your child will get to know her and develop his own trusting relationship with her.

Once you have found a babysitter, a good way to gauge whether you have the right one is to have the person spend some time with your child while you are home (and can observe what is happening). This also introduces your toddler to the sitter in a secure environment.
