Making the Transition Back to Work
|
| |
|
There are many things to consider before returning to work.
-
Be sure you've had enough time to recover from surgery and to make progress in your physical therapy. Your surgeon will be able to advise you on this.
-
if possible, consider returning to work part time at first, especially if you still tire easily.
-
You may be able to have a physical or occupational therapist evaluate your work space and suggest modifications that will make returning easier.
-
If you have a sedentary job, be sure to find time to move. Every half hour, get up—even if just to take a quick walk around the desk. In fact, this is a good habit to continue even after you have fully recovered and resumed your normal level of activity.
