Common Questions Orthopedic Surgeons Hear from Joint Patients

Q: What exercises should I do?

A: Your physical therapist will instruct you on appropriate exercises and give you a list to follow. These exercises should be continued after your recovery as part of your daily routine. In general, swimming and a stationary bike are good exercise options with the approval of your surgeon. (Hip patients will probably be instructed to wait a few weeks before using a stationary bike.)
