Q:  Do I need antibiotics before dental work or an invasive procedure?

A:  Yes, at your first follow-up visit with your surgeon you will be given instructions re prophylactic antibiotics and a prescription for them.

Your surgeon will want you to take a prophylactic antibiotic before dental cleaning for at least 2 years. Some surgeons will want you to premedicate before dental cleaning for the rest of your life.
